The Project
The work breakdown structure is shown in the following graphics. A total of nine technical work packages are defined, plus one management work package (WP 0). The work packages are sub-divided in three blocks: A “definition phase”, a “research and technology development phase”, and an "implementation phase". WP 1 and WP 2 comprise the “definition phase" which is dedicated to the analysis of threats and the performance of refined scenario definition, as well as the definition of the requirements and interfaces in the projects. WP 3 to WP 6 define the main portion of the “research and technology development” to be performed. Here, the vulnerability analysis will be performed (WP 3), the security management and emergency response system will be developed (WP 4) and the experimental studies of the behavior of rescue forces will be developed (WP 5). Also, the social behavior in underground installations in extreme situations will be analyzed (WP 6). An evaluation of the results of WP 5 from the perspective of the end-user will be performed (WP 7).
WPs 8 to 9 comprise the “implementation phase” of the project. Here, the large-scale field tests will be prepared (WP 8) and conducted as a joint effort of all partners (WP 9).
